When TikTok does not send the code
- The number was used on TikTok before. TikTok says the number is linked to another account or sends nothing. Wait 2–3 minutes, cancel, take a new number.
- Too many attempts. Requesting codes back-to-back triggers a block of up to 24 hours. Use "resend" sparingly.
- Outdated app. TikTok occasionally breaks the SMS flow on old versions; update from the store.
- Web sign-up. Verification stalls more often on the website; prefer the mobile app.
Ban risk and safe use
TikTok watches new accounts closely in the first days. Mass-following, pasting the same comment under hundreds of videos and link spam right after sign-up lead to shadowbans or permanent restrictions.
